It was good food and great service
Food is great! Mac n Cheese and any of the cheese fries are a must have! It took a year of living in Ross to check this place out and I only wish we would have sooner.
The dip and garlic mac and cheese were delicious!!!
My girlfriend and I had a craving for some good American food and decided to try Stoke’s. We were REALLY glad that we did, as it was phenomenal! We had a sort of assortment of different foods, from perfect wings to a fried chicken sandwich and garlic Mac and Cheese. I absolutely want to eat here again, there wasn’t a single issue, and the person that took our order on the phone and gave us our order was extremely friendly!
It was my second time eating here and the service was terrible. We waited a long time for a server. We also waited a long time for our food. Once we got our food some orders were not right. I will not be returning here.
My husband and i have been here's several times. Our first experience we ordered food items we usually wouldn't order anywhere, it wasn't very good. We gave it another chance and it's been a positive experience ever since. Our most recent experience was the best. Good food, and waitress was wonderful and excellent at her job. We were in Monday December 9th around 5 pm for dinner and I wish I could remember her name, but she was great! We gave her a nice tip because she was very attentive and friendly. Also, Stokes has a pretty sweet happy hour. This is a good go to if you're out shopping on McKnight and don't want to deal with the craziness of McCandless crossing during the Holiday season :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Their pretzel buns are to die for. Their family atmosphere and local community vibe is 10/10.
Wandered in here at 7pm ish on Saturday. There was no wait, but the place was a bit busy. Had some killer appetizers (buffalo dip and soft prezels), I had a pretty darn good chicken parm sandwich. Others in my party has the pulled pork and said it was really good. They have a serious beer selection, so if beer is you thing, check this place out.
Friendly staff. Made food how I wanted it with no extra charge and the Tokyo Tea is wonderful.
This sandwich had no flavor other then egg. The waitress told me "That's how a fried sandwich is, that's what the dipping sauce is for!" Look, you charged me $10 for deep fried bread, there was no real meat or cheese on that sandwich and fried or not it should have it's own flavor and me not liking the dipping sauce should not render the sandwich inedible. Sorry not sorry but I don't think you even deserve 3 stars if I left hungry after I just ate! Looks on the other hand looked good...
My favorite thing on the menu is the ghost pepper mac and cheese. Worth every penny, and then some!Great, fast, and friendly service!
Food selection was wonderful. A very modest restaurant and bar.
Took nearly an hour to get our food. I watched people come in after us leave before us having eaten. There was a large party that came in near the same time we did which the server said she would put our order in first to ensure we got our food in a timely manner but we watched them get their food then nearly finish eating by the time ours arrived. I had the burger with fires which was okay but seemed like it was sitting. Wife had a Reuben which she said was chewie and unsatisfying. The staff was really nice when we got to see them.
Nice place but gluten-free options need improvement (there were none when I visited). Unfortunately, I have a gluten allergy and gluten-free options are a requirement for me.
Always have great beer on tap. Their homemade soups are FANTASTIC!! Service used to be slow AF but they really stepped their game up recently
Great food and a huge beer and cider selection. Get the soup! The best in town.
Ashley was so friendly and food is awesome.
First and only visit. Fish sandwich over priced and not that good. Nice inside. Waitress was great!
Stop by for the first time on Wednesday with my sister and had good food and a great waitress she is really cool be back again on a Wednesday soon
Family-owned, this place never disappoints. Their burgers and sandwiches are creative and awesome, the salads filling, and even their soups are awesome. Add a giant beer selection to the amazing food, and they've got everything I need.
Above average tap list, good homemade soup and friendly service.
I've passed this place on my way home many times, and just recently decided to stop in. The food was good, and they had a great craft beer selection on tap.
Great selection, good food and convenient location
We love coming to Stokes! The food is always good & timely served. The waitresses are always very friendly an efficient❤️
The food is really good. Nice for an afternoon lunch or casual dinner. Best try anything spicy, since nothing here has been painfully spicy. Ghost pepper Mac is about as spicy as a 2 at an Indian restaurant.I've been told that the owner is all about special beers, but the food is better than any beer. Specialty beer is dumb, but food is life, and good food is a good life. Go for the food, but skip the dumb beer selections.
Great appetizers and happy hour deals
We went here last night and my nephews hamburger had a hair in it. We didn’t say anything because we didn’t want them to think we were looking for a free meal and he had already eaten half of it before he seen the hair. The waitress was young, maybe new but either way very bad at her job. She couldn’t remember who ordered what, she didn’t give us refills and we asked for 2 separate bills and she put everything on one. Food was decent at a decent price but the service and the hair is why we won’t go back. It didn’t seem all that busy when we were there either which is usually a pass for us on bad service.
The time we were here only seven tables were occupied. So, not very busy for a Friday night at 7. I had a Classic Reuben. The corned beef was sparse with parts of the grilled sandwich not having any corned beef on it. While the sauerkraut piled up on other portions. The back of the house staff needs to work on their sandwich craft. My wife had the Philly Chicken. The chicken was dry with parts of it being bland and unseasoned. The server did not offer us drink refills. There is no excuse for this. Considering the fairly basic menu and the fact that the menu has remained static for several years we are very disappointed with our most recent visit.
The food is always great here, I've never ordered something that wasn't good. The Lucas is a great Chicken wrap. I tried a burger for the first time and was not let down. Their homemade soup is so good, they always have several available. Also a great craft beer lost both on tap and in bottles. Recommend
great menu, not an overwhelming amount of food offerings like some places, but the beer list is extensive...the food is good, and the beer is cold!! service is friendly and fast...one word of caution: stay away from the pineapple ghost pepper wings, unless you have an asbestos alimentary system...ouch!! they pack a punch!!
The tap list: extensive. They have a good amount of local brews, and we liked everything we tried. The food: amazing. We got some fry baskets (the white one was incredible), a sausage onion pizza (their crust is crunchy AND fluffy???), and a Reuben (the Reuben connoisseur says the flavor and textures were perfect). The service: our waitress Sarrah was working solo, and she was a rockstar. We’ll be back.
So here's the deal I had a pick up order... I am a new dad so going to pick up food is a big deal I can have a beer and relax for a min. Beer there was great but I waited forever to get my food I got it and it was under cooked pizza looked like something you would get at a convince store wings were rubber. Worst part I tipped 20$ on a 32$ bill. Very disappointed
Quality and quantity meet cost for a great casual spot to enjoy lunch, dinner, or late night. Stoke's is a clean restaurant with an American selection of burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and appetizers - try the quesadilla! They have a great draft beer selection. Check them out for an amazing happy hour deals.
Good food and good service. I would recommend.
My wife and I frequent Stokes at least once a week. We are never disappointed. The quality of the food is superb and the service is very friendly. Their pizza is among the best in the North Hills, which says a lot. Their draft selection has a lot of depth and promotes local breweries. If you are looking for a place to watch any Pittsburgh sport, I recommend Stokes. Their happy hour is great, amd they broadcast audio for most games, which is not common for similar local eateries.
Service was quite fast and reliable. Great staff for greeting and small chit-chat for ordering and made terrific recommendations. Burgers were excellent but when ordering order 1 tier up from how you like the burger cooked[usually this applies to everywhere you go]. And I like the art on the walls that you can purchase!!! Really cool joing for a chain restraunt. And they have plenty of options for beer and mixes.
Comfy little place with a great variety of food. I don't drink, but my boyfriend loves their draft selections as well. Try their buffalo mac n cheese, you won't regret it!
We had dinner here tonight. The food and the service were both excellent. I had their Monte Cristo sandwich and really enjoyed it. I don't know what they used for the breading, but it really added to the flavor of the sandwich. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals, also.
This place gets 5 stars for no other reason than the food is just delicious. The ambiance, the decor leaves a lot to be desired but they do have a nice-looking bar. This eatery started as a small establishment taking over where a bagel shop used to be, and it looked like that for a while, until they expanded next door and added the bar. The menu is clever with a great variety of different foods and a lot of fun names for both the food and the drinks they serve. The place is very casual and the wait staff is extremely courteous and the owners are wonderful people. They serve a variety of soups, sandwiches dinners, desserts and appetizers and my favorite is the crab bisque soup and I get it every time I'm there. I give a thumbs up to this place so stop on in and I'm sure you'll find this will be one of your favorite places to frequent.
Never had a bad meal here amongst everything I have tried. Soups are top notch
Great food, great beer! Great place
Love stokes! Every time is a treat. Great drafts and bottles and delicious food. Not it mention nice staff, my go to for happy hour.
Very nice server. I thought the prices were high. Italian hoagie was a 6 inch with very little meat and 11 dollars. I won't go back.
Nice atmosphere, more than ample beer selections. They even have Gluten Free ciders and GF menu items! Will definitely be revisiting...
Great food, not great service. If my waitress said yep to me one more time instead of you’re welcome or thank you I was going to scream 😅Reading other reviews it’s apparent that the wait here is always long 🤷🏽♀️ It’s really sad because the food and beer was great. It doesn’t seem like the business is willing to make a change though after reading past reviews. You would hope that customers are their number one priority. You can respond to all of the reviews and what not but actions speak louder than words!
Food is good and service was great nice people I like the paintings on the wall for sell
Excellent food I suggest trying the Dank!!!
Amy and Jason run a great establishment. The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. Best happy hour in the North Hills. 4-6pm.
Food was good. Great beer selection. Staff was welcoming, but our server was not friendly or attentive.
I really like Stoke's selection of homemade soup. The restaurant is very family friendly, and we can always find something on the menu that we enjoy. Wednesday burger nights are the best.
